Well *that's* easy...
... the one that I wrote, of course. Though, I've been enjoying reading Au Pied de Cochon: L'Album lately...
So this coming Sunday is Super Bowl XLI. Now while Caldwell threw away the Patriots lost the AFC Championships and aren't in it, I'll still be glued to the set come Sunday afternoon watching the ads hoping Miami gets hit by a meteor to hopefully see Manning and the Colts lose just so people will shut the fuck up about him. And when the clock runs to zero at the end of the fourth quarter, I can focus on my 2007 Red Sox.
What's that? You're having a group of people over to watch the game? You don't want to just have nachos and dip? Well I've got that covered for you:
Chili - Always a crowd pleaser, and something you can make in advance so you don't miss any of the game.
Cabin BBQ Sauce - What? Even the East Coast has been fairly snow free. Fire up the grill and BBQ up some ribs...
Pizza/Calzones - Don't even *think* about ordering your pizza out - make the dough the night before, and have homemade pizza during the game.
Well, Thanksgiving's around the corner, and if you're thinking about making a Turducken, you should order your birds today (so as to give your butcher 2 weeks to procure them for you).
Oh, and as you start thinking about your turkey day planning, here are a few other recipes to get you on your way to spending a day eating and drinking with friends and family.
... I make a pretty fucking awesome ratatouille.
If you could open any sort of restaurant, what would it be like?
It would be small, 20 - 30 seats, with no set menu. Every night would be a different choice of three main dishes, based on how the weather had struck me when headed to the market, what song was playing in my head, what was super fresh and begging to be turned into a meal. If it needed to fall into some category of cuisine, it would be "new American", though arguably it could be classified as "slow food", for as much as I hate that term and the people that bandy it about. It would be a place to go to feel comfortable, where you wouldn't have to ask for a top shelf booze for your cocktails, where you would take the first bite of your meal and find yourself pleasantly distracted by your dinner guest as she bites into her meal and lets out a little moan...
This coming weekend is the long Fourth of July weekend here in the States. Regardless of where you are, a summer weekend is a summer weekend - which give you a perfect excuse to fire up the BBQ and get get your summertime groove on.
